If your pissed now wait til multiple factors hit it at once.

Right now its mostly just fear and manipulation.

When the straits of hormuz shut because a huge carrier
or oil tanker is sunk there it will take quite awhile to clear it
as we saw with the cruise ship that ran aground.

Then add in war to the region and diminished capacity
and possibly damaged pipelines in the region and
we could see oil shoot up well past $200 a barrel,
thus making it nearly DOUBLE what is right now.

Think about $7 a gallon and what would happen to all the
working poor who live in rural areas.

Think of what would happen to the cost of shipping goods,
growing food via mechanized means.

Anything requiring transport will go up, anything that has plastic
in its build cycle will go up, anything that has most chemicals in it will too
as they are derived from oil.

I am just glad that this appears to be held off til almost spring.

Winter is past for the most part, so worst case we can put crops
in the ground in not too much longer.

I will be splitting my time between gathering wild edibles, planting
tough plants in non-row fashion, and digging out more of a
underground shelter system.

Remember some edible plants are not viewed as food by 90% of the population,
but I'd consider planting things that store well in a root cellar too, or
via solar dehydration. Canning items will cost money and money is about to dry up.

I leave town $3.19, I arrive back in town $3.59. I did not gas up at $3.19 because it was selling for $3.02 in indianaplois on the morning news, gas had been on the decline, but we had been warned. I cant figure how it change price every hour or so.

1 US gallon = 3.79ish litres
$3.59/3.79litres = 0.9472 $/L
now i fueled up (well, more of "half tanked up") here in lovely canada this morning for $1.27/L
our currencies are pretty much at parity...
you guys get most of your oil from us (actually 99% of our oil exports)
and yet our prices are drastically freaking higher. go figure

Gas 'quality' being minimal to start with tends to be adulterated @ different stations... I found the BEST gas at one place - ARCO swipes $100.00 off your card and refunds it 3 weeks later for security [investment?].
My car's fuel system was choked up $500.00 to clean it back to front. NM gas local refineries/wells did it.
Gas used to be so volatile it exploded at 10 paces away - so now 40 years or so later you have to rest a match on the liquid to start a small surface fire.
Lead was not for octane nor lubricant - all additives tend to wipe out combustibility - so their methods of octane are LIES!
From the 20s gas had no need for a carb. a 'gas pan' was used [like a painter roller brush pan] where the gas flowed down to the intake and by that time fully vaporized too and 40+ MPG and way over. Well that had to stop so they invented carb.s along with crappy gas! They cited explosive dangers for all this.
And the oil companies sponsored 'accidents' to prove how dangerous their own gas was.
I remember Papa Bear and Sancho were talking bout all this on here too..
Spark suppression wires are for radio interferences but make so little spark as to BARELY ignite the fuel - Catalytic Converters actually need a small amout of raw unburned gas at high heat to catalyze the fumes into another noxious compound called NITROUS OXIDE / laughing gas and this stuff is not safe either in the millions of PPM in the atmosphere another poisonous substance. O2 sensors and AIR MASS sensors cam angle sensors and temp.water/air sensors and a CPU to govern the mess is totally not needed when done like this - to hide all the wasted efforts gas and money.

I do find also some pumps lie about delivery rates and total amount paid for by some percent - and too all this is variably done so avoid any detection...

In GULF WAR I the gas rates changes 2x per day. Food prices spiked and inflation got worse only then was the worst of it Yet in GULF WAR II nothing! Stable gas prices pretty much then. Rye flour went from 19 cents/lb. to nearly 4 times in 1990; and now its like $1.90/lb organic too!

I have a friend that runs a tanker, this is the shit.
30% is actually gasoline, another 30% is an additive, another 30% is an additive that makes that additive burn, and he also has to go to the ethenol plant and top it off 10% ethenol, there you go a full 100% . I always wondered why my check engine light would come on at some stations when I filled up. Just had to buy an additive to make it go out.

So god I am correct?

I have a pollution issue on my Toyota 1987 PU O2 sensor replace and Air Mass sensor even w/ carb.. maybe?
I do sense gas being shitty since last year maybe they are slowly doing the combo you mentioned!

We are already paying $6.00 a gallon and have been for a long time so what are you all bitching about .........and its hellishly higher in UK etc.

Gas up another .19 cents again today !! Look out for major prices up across the board.

Based on futures contracts, word is that we will see $4.00 a gallon nation wide in the next week or 2. California could see well above $5.00 a gallon. It also has nothing to do with Iran, more likely simply caused by inflation. The U.S. produces 6 times more natural gas than Iran; Russia barely produces more than the US.

Silver, a hard commodity like gas, is moving up too.

Could be a painful sting coming our way. Can't have 1 out of every 2 people taking government issued relief. Can't have sub prime borrowers taking over $150,000 foreclosures, especially when another 50% housing drop is likely. The 1s and 2s don't add up.
