Greetings Fellow Inmates and SHTFers!

Share It:

Welcome all rational truth seekers, junkies, warriors, humans, bots, mr. surveillance man, and multidimensional creatures tuning in!

This little corner that The Administration has graciously created will aim to be a platform for discussion of some of the most crucial financial and economic questions facing our world today. As we are all well aware, finance will be the catalyst and main vehicle through which our modern way of life will be disrupted beyond recognition. Understanding the underpinnings of today's financial pickle is of PARAMOUNT importance if we wish to survive the coming shift. It is my contention that the main fundamental flaw that will cause our current financial system's inevitable and not-too-distant collapse is DEBT.

Together we can not only delucidate beyond reasonable doubt the nature of the current problems, but hopefully build proper foundations for the world of tomorrow. This new thread on SHTF was motivated in part by the ideas contained in Debtor's Prison
http://www.debtorsprisonblog.org, a global macro blog that aims to tackle these very fundamental issues, provide useful thought experiments to promote deep thinking about wealth, its presevertation and economic survival. We advise you to take a look at the content therein and explore some of the earlier posts, I believe they have some value for the financial expert and non-expert alike. In this thread, I will post any new posts on the site, as well as provide other very worthwhile/educational/informational/otherwise ridiculous! links, content and other material pertaining to financial SHTF. We encourage you to actively participate in this discussion as well, as many minds are infinitely better than a few.

May your capital be safe and your investments prosperous!

What's your view on the ~$800B of Banking slack sitting in the Federal Reserve Fund?

Is this part of the Bottleneck that will doom future Bond purchase? That and lack of velocity/liquidity in Trade Balances?

Re: Greetings Fellow Inmates and SHTFers!

Thanks for the welcome guys. I am now in the process of posting some of the recent posts after a little 3mo hiatus I took. Hx3, I will return shortly to answer the question. Perhaps you might want to check out the recent post "Solstice Sililoquy on Excess Bank Reserves", since I believe it might answer your question. I dont know exactly what you mean by "banking slack" (maybe its excess reserves?)

Funny how that works...we end up paying massive interest to access our own money in the end, that they get for free...they thrive on it, while instead of just individuals going into debt they plunge the whole world into it...

Re: Greetings Fellow Inmates and SHTFers!

Thanks again for the warm greeting guys, I hope to contribute to the wonderful work you guys do here at SHTF and hopefully this thread will be worthwhile. VolHelman, I try my best to make the reading accessible to anyone, regardless of financial expertise, but I often fail. I also assume sometimes readers are familiar with topics that I have covered in earlier posts (which are more didactic). In the near future I hope to make a compendium of BASIC education and primers and the like, accesible both on debtorsprisonblog.org and on this thread. Thanks again guys, glad to be here!

On the point about paying interest to get our own money back, this is certainly true, to a degree. I mean, the fact that yields on Short-term US treasuries (less than 3 months) have been negative several times, implies that people are perfectly fine with "storing" their wealth with Uncle Sam, having a nice little chunk TAKEN out of it, as long as it is returned almost in its entirety. Its truly pathetic how the average investor and economic agent has seemingly LOST all ability to protect their wealth from wanton destruction, all because we were all FORCED to participate in the paper fiat/debt system corroding our civilization today.

Also, I hope that these posts will be a venue for discussion of these ideas, and for any clarification necessary of my original articles, in which I feel compelled to be succint, sometimes at the cost of exhaustive detail. So feel free to comment/ask/critique!

MAAA, I am overwhelmed by the information. Just goes to show that occasionally I do make smart decisions especially when I saw your posts/threads.

Excellent job! I know this will be a huge cornerstone to our site.

Re: Greetings Fellow Inmates and SHTFers!

Just wanted to thankyou for the pretty pictures you throw into your threads to keep my eyes from completely crossing as I give myself shock therapy to stay with it...

Actually, you have a way of bringing it down for the layman and for that I do appreciate all your efforts.

This is one of the most exciting times to be alive and yet it is the same energy in the air now that caused people to jump out of windows in 29.

Anyway, welcome to the party and I look forward to keeping a breast of the financial crash and flow.

CheesecakeLarry, thanks for the kind words and the invitation to contribute to SHTF!

Innerflame, Im glad you enjoy the charts, so do I! Pictures do tell a thousand words. Also, I will respond to your gold/silver question in the other thread where you asked it http://shtf411.com/count-the-money-sizes-of-most-relevant-markets-t3727.html. I wholeheartedly agree that it is one of the most exciting times to be alive. Great cataclysms bring out the most entrenched courage, as well as the biggest fear. I think that the magnitude of what we'll see will probably exceed ´29, at least in scale. It is unclear to me how much DISCOMFORT today's MTV/ipod generation is willing to take before they sign away more of their freedom. Is 20% inflation rate enough for them to proclaim one world currency the savior?! Is it 50%? Who knows, but it is certainly an important question since we must keep in mind that most crises are ENGINEERED by TPTB in order to bring about the next scaffolding in their pyramid of power.

Exuberant1, awesome and enraging!
