America's AAA Credit rating. What does it mean?

Share It:

As a financial nebbish, I know it would be bad. But HOW bad? If our credit rating went from AAA to AA.

Does anyone have an answer?

I hear this alot. Tim Geitner said it would never happen, but when has anyone ever believed anything out of this administration.

Thanks,

CCL

Re: America's AAA Credit rating. What does it mean?

It would mean that the U.S. would have to pay higher interest rates on T-bonds and the like.
It would mean that interest rates would be necessarily raised for those wanting business loans.
It would mean that prices of everything would climb at an even higher rate then it is currently.
It would mean that even more jobs would be lost, and at a much faster pace.
It would mean that long term (and short term) bond holders would start calling in their debt markers. I.E. T-bonds, etc...
It would mean that other countries holding reserves of U.S. currency would flood the market with dollars, raising inflation.
It would mean that the U.S. dollar would more then likely be replaces as the currency of choice when purchasing crude oil.

It would mean the imminent collapse of the U.S. dollar, plunging our economy to it's demise - post haste!!!

It would be the destruction of this country - beyond repair!!!

It would mean that those of us who are more or less prepared would necessarily have to take measures to protect our stores of supplies.

It would mean that the hordes that didn't kill each other in the cities and surrounding areas would begin to migrate to the countryside looking for food and anything of value that they might be able to take from those of us who are prepared.

It would mean that many people who would otherwise be passive and peaceful would be required to kill in order to protect themselves and families from the hordes of creatures coming to take what they can - by force, if necessary!

It would mean the end of the plush and comfortable way of life that we all take for granted today.

And, it would mean that all that we once had as a country and people would be gone forever!!!

You might think that what I've said is an overstatement, but I think not! I really, really wish it wasn't!!!

You'd best be planning like tomorrow is the end of the world as, it may well be the end of civilization as we currently know and understand it!!!

And to be sure, the above senario is coming regardless! It's only a matter of time!!!

Re: America's AAA Credit rating. What does it mean?

CheesecakeLarry,

All we have to do is look around us, the news, the internet, the job situation, etc... If we look around with eyes wide open, we have to see that those running things are slamming this country (and the entire world economy) from all sides.

It's so over whelming that the rational and reasonable person simply can't cope - I know that a little over a year ago, I was literally stunned at the amount of devastation taking place to this country.

But once the initial shock wore off, the survival mode kicked in and I realized that the only one that was going to take care of me, was Me! Katrina is an excellent example of what lack of self preservation and dependence on the government means. I will not become a victim to that mentality!

Yes, it's very harsh, waking up! But who will be there for you? Who will feed you? You will be one of the hordes, if you don't start making preparations!!!

My siblings think I'm on the lunatic fringe! What have I got to loose, preparing for any disaster? I personally think that if they are not preparing, it is they who are on the lunatic fringe!!!

Re: America's AAA Credit rating. What does it mean?

wizardwars,

I don't mean for it to be doom & gloom! I only answered the question.

It's sad, really. I recently attempted to shed some light on the current situation with a colleague. While I was explaining the current economic situation to this guy, he burst out angrily "Don't even be telling me this stuff! I don't want to hear it! If you tell me about this stuff, it ruins everything! Don't you be destroying my cozy life! If this shit is true, you destroy my world!!!" or something similar...

Damn!!! I'm not the one destroying anybodies world - it's already destroyed! You just haven't felt the full effects of what's coming yet. And so, the guy would not talk to me any more for fear that what I would tell him would take his sheltered way of life from him.

Call it what you want! The fact is, it is gloom & doom, because, that is what is in the horizon of our immediate future. We can't escape it, even if we wanted to!!!

I'm so sorry, for all our loss! But don’t you want to know why your life as you’ve known it is coming to an end? Face it, life is about to get very difficult!

Re: America's AAA Credit rating. What does it mean?

Hey Carl, I'm right there with you on this.

This too:

My siblings think I'm on the lunatic fringe! What have I got to loose, preparing for any disaster? I personally think that if they are not preparing, it is they who are on the lunatic fringe!!!

Although I have had some luck... several other close family members cant cope.

Anyway, I am getting the bigger picture every day on the direction of things... It's pretty heavy!

Check out as much H.G. Wells stuff as you can. Sci-Fi... yea... uh huh...

I'm just starting "A Modern Utopia" now... you can get it free online as it's public domain but, "War of the Worlds" makes sense to me tonight as I start to read this one. I'm pretty sure this has been a long range plan and we are just going into the shitty part of it for us in the States... Well, at least the last nine or ten years anyway.

Re: America's AAA Credit rating. What does it mean?

My whole aim is to speak the truth as I perceive it. This doesn't mean that I've got it totally right! I don't!!! There is far too much for any one of us to know or discover. But the only way we learn the whole truth is tell each other what we've learned and provide the hard evidence. That is all I can do.

If anyone has been watching Europe, we should be very frightened. If Europe's economy crumbles, the U.S. will more then likely tumble within days, as well.

If war erupts with Iran, things will get tough, as well.

If China decided to dump T-boned, arm yourself and get ready to bug-out to your prepared safe-haven.
Three events today up the anti...

1. Europe (the PIIGS) falters on bailing out Greece.
2. China moved to protect them selves by ordering that all non-secured bonds be liquidated.
3. Fox today, announced that 10 U.S. states are about to officially declare bankruptcy.

How true these things are is only as true as the sources that aired them. But I have found that, when the major media outlets and Internet sources all start telling the same story, it's probably something that has at least some truth to it.

There are other significant events, as well, but they elude me at the moment.

So, in the hopes that I've disturbed the slumber of anyone napping, please take heed and begin preparing - while you still can!

By the way...
I've been lurking around this site for several months, and I like most of what I see. I hope that I am able to contribute to the group in a positive way. If the things I'm presenting are offencive, I appologize. I only want to warn everyone I can about what is about to take place in the near future.

Thanks all!!!

No worries bro. I lurked a while too until I finally decided this was a decent place to try and trade info and theories. I think i have just about the same amount of time in the worry mode as you do. Basically right after the last election I felt something wasn't right. Wheew! Dead on! Think I am going to try and construct a fresh post.

Re: America's AAA Credit rating. What does it mean?

I think all that really means id that the ponzy scheme widens and the U.S. is the infusion of capital to prolong the European misery until our currency is diminished to about equal to third world standards.

It seems to me that it is the IMF that has ripped off the entire U.S. money supply with the help of the U.S. treasury. So, why aren't they simply footing the bill?

It's all a scheme to further enslave the common folk!
