Happy 233rd Birthday, U.S.M.C., Uncle Sam's Misguided Children

Share It:

While I was not a Marine, and I have my many differences of opinion concerning the Government and all of their policies, but being raised by a Vietnam era ex-Marine, I will extend a warm and Happy Birthday to the Marines, I will say it for my stepfather, Semper Fidelis, Always Faithful.

My stepfather is who taught me what Divide and Conquer means, the entirety of the Hegelian Dialectic, adapt, improvise, modify, and overcome, so I owe to him all that I am and how I became the man I am today, and as well through him from the Marine Corps, I owe everything.

Happy Birthday, to the U.S.M.C., Uncle Sam's Misguided Children, for you are the worthy, the few, the proud, the Marines.

The Art of War turned into the Art of Peace means you can see where peace is needed through knowledge of war, & turn the war-monger into a peaceful person, the war-monger inside you, then defeat your enemy, perceived or otherwise, through passive means with combined knowledge, intelligence, & wisdom.

SKL, it is amazing how many ex-military parents impart their distrust of government to their children. Must be only coincidental. /s

And to all the marines out their. Semper Fi HUUUAGHHHH!

And to all the other members and former members, thanks for your service!

OOH-RAH!

As former Army, we ragged the Marines as much as they did us, all in good humor. With a father-in-law and many good friends being Marines (once a Marine, apparently - always a Marine) I am forced to admit that some of these are more or less tolerable folks.

Some heroes wear capes, but Marines wear boots. They'll be the first to tell you that "guns don't kill people, I kill people." Marines know first hand that except for ending slavery, facism, nazism, and communism, war has never solved anything.

I contend a dead enemy is a peaceful enemy.

Blessed be the peacemakers.

Especially the Marines

Here, here! I'll wish a few sailors happy birthday as well. Nothing like the US Navy!

Endisnighe,

The distrust of Government came to me naturally, for each and every time I told my stepfather he was wrong, Government would not do that, he would show me how to see what was really going on, so literally I learned from a Marine how to spot the Government's dirty tricks, shady tactics, and shell games.

No matter what though, the Marine Corps is one of the best military organizations, and to them I wish a Happy Birthday.

SKL :to_keep_order:

Dooper,

Army, Navy, Marines, or Air Force, all of our services serve our country well, and to them my hat is off.

I miss the regimentation, organization, structure, and discipline.

I see no other civilians as disciplined as I am, ever, unless they are former military, and that saddens me truly.

Happy Birthday to Uncle Sam's Misguided Children, I would never be prouder than to have one of those "Misguided Children" on my side.

I cannot stop listening to that first U.S.M.C. cadence I posted in the original post, it brings back memories of when I was in Boot Camp in the Army.

Sancho,

Thanks for stopping by and showing presence within this thread, it means a lot to me. :coolthumb:

SKL, just started a thread on Veterans Day. Didn't want to steal any thunder, much respect for the Marines, but wanted to make it all inclusive.

Visit http://www.shtf411.com and try out for a walk on role as a waiter on Maginum PI.

If http://www.shtf411.com were cheese, it'd be a nice swiss with small holes.

Yes, my avitar is my actual photograph only on http://www.shtf411.com .

Larry,

That's cool, I wasn't trying to exclude any of the Armed Service, someone brought it to my attention the U.S.M.C. had a Birthday.

Feel free to link that over here, and vice versa, and thanks for reminding me. :coolthumb:

Born and raised in an Air Force family, I went on to represent the Army in my little way. Love of country is the tie that binds us. Duty, Honor, Country!
Today is the day.
