Man offered 'last tree' to deputies

Share It:

Ok...drugs are a good thing?

OKLAHOMA CITY, March 10 (UPI) -- Authorities in Oklahoma said a man who crashed into a parking lot walked into a jail and offered a stick he called the "last tree in the universe" as payment.

Oklahoma County sheriff's deputies said Rondell Bailey walked into the downtown Oklahoma City jail with a stick and told deputies he wanted to offer the object, which he called the "last tree in the universe," in exchange for dropping any possible charges against him, KOCO-TV, Oklahoma City, reported Wednesday.

The deputies said Bailey left after being told the stick was not an acceptable form of payment and threw a brick through a jail window.

Investigators said they discovered a white powder suspected to be methamphetamine during a search of the suspect's truck.

Bailey was arrested on destruction of property and drug charges.

Um, based on my friends from Oklahoma, it sort of improves your image. Norman isn't anywhere near normal, is it?

Oh hell no its not, but Tulsa, Stillwater, Ada, and the like aren't too shabby. Don't lump me in with the "Sooner" martians either. I mean what kind of athletic team gets its name from and glorifies a cheater?

Re: Man offered 'last tree' to deputies

You guys are hilarious. I live in a small town close to Norman. Try to avoid Norman altogether on game days. The nut house is in Norman and Oklahoma decided a few years ago to quit paying for the psych meds for these homeless people (homeless because they don't take their psych meds-good thinking lawmakers! :sarcasm: ). You can walk around Norman and see people talking to themselves, swatting at imaginary foes in the air.

Saw one guy marching rather smartly down the street wearing nothing but a pair of cowboy boots and carrying a plastic sword, waving it purposefully as he marched. College students and drugs= :clown: .

I made a post over on ATS about famous Okies and we have quite a few colorful characters from here. Of course, once they get rich and famous they leave. Quite a few Okies here on this site.

Even in his messed up condition the guy in the article had enough conscience to attempt to offer a recompense for what he knew was wrong. Gotta give him a little credit. (very little)
