New 'Wild Cookery' Blog.

Share It:

Well after quite a hiatus, and with spring creeping towards us ever so slowly, I decided to take up the reins of 'Wild Cookery!' again and see what I can contribute to helping people feed themselves for the low low cost of... ZERO!

Or as darn close as possible anyway.

There are links to the existing videos there on the blog, and I'll eventually be creating a page where all the videos can be easily clicked from the blog itself.

Do be aware that at this point the blog is in 'Beta' stage and a lot of it hasn't been tweaked yet, so don't be expecting uber slick and shiny. It's functional and informative, and I'll tighten the bolts down as I go.

For the folks who are interested in learning about edible wild plants and how to cook them, skills that will one day probably save your life and the lives of those you love, please go here:

http://wildcookery.wordpress.com/

Take care everyone!

And eat more dandelions!

Re: New 'Wild Cookery' Blog.

Thanks everyone. That's why I do it. It's 100% non profit. I just do it because I love it and I get to help people. My little way of 'giving something back' to humanity, by helping people become more independent and less tied to the PTB and corporations..

So by all means, refer it to anyone ye like. The more folks that get exposed to this basic information, the better.

Most of us have lost the skills of enjoying basic wild foods that our ancestors ate, and reclaiming it is a huge part of moving forward, IMO.

Good post !!! :star5:

Food is one of the core 5 survival needs and most food in the stores is
tainted with BPA, MSG, RBGH, other hormones and or synthetics.

This is why a wild edibles laminated guide is in my INCH bag.

I am a fan of planting sun flowers for fat, amaranth for protein,
acorns are also food after MUCH work to make them edible, lol.
Trillions for banksters, suit wearing gangsters, globalist gluttony, common man's misery,
Only at the end, did most see the trend. ~ a rhyme by Me

Re: New 'Wild Cookery' Blog.

Thanks folks. I've had over 110 unique views to the site so far, and that's with zero advertising, as the blog is still in it's infancy, so to speak. I'm going to be doing a review of some of the better known wild food guides out there and get into the good, the bad, and the outright useless. ;)

Look for the first of those in the next few days.

Busy busy busy! :)

Nice post! :star5:

Thanks for the disclaimer about the wild shrooms; It's better to avoid them all together if you're not 100 percent sure what you're doing.

Also, and maybe it's just me -- I am in no way a vegetarian and love to sink my teeth into a rare steak on occasion -- but being raised overseas it's easy to see how Americans like to serve too much meat on their plates. Meat should be used for flavor only in most everyday dishes. Often overlooked "poor man's" proteins include cheese, beans and nuts -- all filling, tasty and nutritious.

I used to have an innocent looking white kitten for my avatar. I figured that didn't fit so well, so year before last, I changed it for Halloween, and liked it so much that I kept it. ;)

I've posted a short snippet about the First Spring Greens of 2012.

http://wildcookery.wordpress.com/2012/0 ... -the-year/

Has anyone else found any spring greens with this unusually warm season we've been having?

Re: New 'Wild Cookery' Blog.

Since it's been cold out here this weekend I've been going through and doing some inside 'spring cleaning' of sorts and ran across my old 'Food Storage Secrets' DVDs and figured that now was a good time to review them again.

I've really gotten quite a bit of use out of them knowledge-wise thus far, and I'm going to be canning my little tail off this fall, everything I can get my grubby little mitts on from fiddleheads to dandelions, to the neighbor's dog if that darn thing doesn't pipe down.
