Unreal! I wonder if folks who cross-border shop from Canada to the U.S. will be charged the fee. You can bet the U.S. border towns will be fighting this! We used to live 10 miles from the U.S. border, and drove across to buy dairy products and gasoline. Plus, there are shopping malls strategically placed in the U.S. close to the Canadian border. With the Canadian dollar approaching par with the U.S. dollar, that should slow down mall business, too. The One doesn't think, does he? What a dolt.

? ? ? ? ? ? umm does passing a bill to promote us mean that the world view of our country will change for the better? I think there might be some other steps that could be taken to improve our reputation...
although... my first thought was as much as it costs to go to the movies nowadays( not to mention a "real" show or concert), ten bucks sounds like a really cheap admission fee for the ticket- Here ye hear ye here ye.... step right up folks- for the greatest show on earth...can they get a refund if they didn't like the show?

Every time I drove to Canada with my Semi I had to pay 5 bucks to get back in my own country. This has been this was for years! They have just doubled the price and included it for everyone!

Can't remember where i read it but the article said that US tourism was suffering because of all the security at airports, watch lists, get permission from your local US embassy first blah blah.
Now I just fly west via Asia to get to Europe much easier. Easy security, no big questions asked. They don't care that I hold 3 different passports, UK, Irish and NZ.

I've even flown via Japan over the North Pole. even Santa was easier to please when it came to security.

Last time I flew into China, I lost my luggage, turned out it had been sent to the oversize luggage pick-up area. The security guys even helped us carry our luggage for me. They asked If I needed a Taxi, gave some free games for the kids to play with while waiting. The only security to pass through was passport control (Once) and only a couple of questions. Even if they were security they made the whole experience easy and enjoyable can't remember the last time I had that via America....

a beautiful country been to DC and New York allso to Los Angels once, lol the ppl i when to L.A with wanted to go to some odd place i said no no, im goint o see the Tar Pits, not to an amusment park. well i remember the controll lol they asled me, if im here on Pleasure or Business trip, i was like eh??? lol last time i was in USA i was held at the customs for 9hrs because they claimed my Finnish Eu passport was counterfeit lol, kinda odd when it has biometrics in it .....

well not going to pay 10$ bucks to visit usa i rather give that 10$ to a homeless on the street, so he/she can get a warm meal

If you go across the border more than once a month with a good valid reason, you should do ok in the long run.


If you don't, and you say get the idea one day to go across the border to do some shopping. Good luck. This is a serious 50/50 at best. They harass people like your wearing a fuckin turban, holding the Quran, illegal vegetables, state you've been to a farm in last 24 hours, are carrying exotic plants and at least 3 endangered species pelts are in the trunk. It's fuckin ridiculous.

I quit traveling over the border on land 6 years ago when they decided to waste 2 hours of my life over nothing. Its the worst too, cause its a foreign nation and the customs agents can hold you indefinitely so you can't piss them off or argue your case or anything. You just have to sit there and be treated like they just caught bin laden himself. I live half hour from the border and clothes are like 50% cheaper just across the border.... and I will never go.

Back on the topic of this absolutely retarded legislation... yea no shit its retarded, have you seen anything out of the government in mmmm lets say... several decades, that has been intelligent? Come to the realization that America is being destroyed by design, not some grand coincidence and everything becomes so clear.
